答：担体是一种多孔性化学惰性固体，在气相色谱中用来支撑固定液。对担体有如下几点要求：
1、表面积较大，一般应在0、5-2米 /克之间;
2、具有化学惰性和热稳定性;
3、有一定的机械强度，使涂渍和填充过程不引起粉碎;
4、有适当的孔隙结构，利于两相间快速传质;
5、能制成均匀的球状颗粒，利于气相渗透和填充均匀性好;
6、有很好的浸润性，便于固定液的均匀分布。完全满足上述要求的担体是困难的，人们在实践中只能找出性能比较优良的担体。
