Water-soluble, substrate for sortase mediated labeling of proteins. Sortase catalyzes a transpeptidase reaction between a specific internal sequence of a protein and an amine group present on the N-terminus of triglycine recently has become an area of great interest. This method of labeling proteins has been denoted as "Sortagging". BP Fluor 405 is a water-soluble, pH-insensitive from pH 4 to pH 10, blue-fluorescent probe with excitation ideally suited for the 407 nm spectral line of the krypton laser or the 408 nm violet laser diode. BP Fluor 405 is often used in multicolor applications, including flow cytometry and super-resolution microscopy using STORM.
